Per-diem rates by state and city, FY2026
GSA per-diem rates for fiscal year 2026 (October 2025 through September 2026): lodging by month and meals & incidentals (M&IE) for every non-standard locality, plus the standard CONUS rate. Truck drivers subject to DOT hours-of-service rules use the special transportation-industry M&IE rate of $80 per day anywhere in the continental U.S., 80% deductible. GSA has already published FY2027 rates (effective October 1, 2026); these pages switch over automatically on that date.

How truckers use per diem
Owner-operators deduct M&IE for each day away from their tax home (partial days at 75%); company drivers can only benefit through an employer per-diem plan since the 2018 tax changes. Lodging rates matter for drivers who hotel during resets. The locality lodging figures below are what GSA reimburses federal travelers and what most employer plans cap at.
