Every provider registered with FMCSA to give entry-level driver training: 32,488 locations under 17,916 providers. Since February 2022 you cannot take a CDL skills test without training from one of them, so this register is the complete list of places that can train a new truck driver.

What the register means

A provider on the register has told FMCSA it meets the entry-level driver training standard for the classes it lists: Class A, Class B, passenger, school bus and hazardous materials. Training has two parts, theory and behind-the-wheel, and a provider may be registered for one without the other -- check that the school you choose covers what you need before you pay.

The Training Provider Registry records which schools are permitted to give entry-level driver training. Being on it is a legal permission, not an endorsement, and this page is not a recommendation of any school on it. Register as of 2026-09-15. Source: FMCSA Training Provider Registry.
